Gloomth

gloomthGloomth & the Cult of Melancholy is dedicated to resurrecting the elegance of well-constructed and distinctive Gothic attire. Specializing in one of a kind pieces suiting every facet of the broad spectrum of “Goth”- from Visual Kei to elaborate Neo-Victorian.

We carry an enormous selection of men’s and women’s clothing, plus sizes, accessories, and original Ulna “arm” warmers and cuffs. Gloomth firmly believes that true originality and beauty should not be overpriced.

Gloomth launched in February of 2007, after much research and market testing. Created by Taeden Hall, Gloomth embodies every aspect of her interest in art and design. Taeden graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Design, and worked as an Illustrator prior to developing Gloomth. She has been sewing her own clothing since early high school, after growing tired with the dim goods of local malls. Gloomth was created with a genuine love of original and unique clothing, and to address the growing same-ness of “mainstream” gothic attire. Taeden’s own morbid leanings have always driven her to the “gothic” style, and the same themes present in her artwork now echo in the clothing. All of the photography for Gloomth is completed by Derek Cutting, her camera-wielding husband, including the array of new Gloomth Models who now appear in our vast range of clothing. Gloomth’s target audience is as varied as the styles we carry. Gloomth was made for any Goth who has ever remarked about the new uniform of the “brand name” goth attire, the poor quality and high prices of such, and the lack of true originality and passion in clothing. Gloomth is for anyone who understands that art can be transferred to consumable goods, and that some styles are timeless.
